Federal Secretary Ministry of Industries and Production, Mr. Azher Ali Choudhry visited TUSDEC Head Office Lahore on Monday November 12, 2018. CEO TUSDEC, Mr. Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry and senior officials warmly welcomed Mr. Azher Ali Choudhry and briefed him regarding current initiatives and key achievements of TUSDEC. The Federal Secretary also visited TUSDEC facilities including National Institute of Design and Analysis (NIDA) and Cement Research and Development Institute (CRDI). He appreciated TUSDEC’s efforts and extra ordinary achievements related to technology upgradation and skill development and shared that such initiatives will not only help in industrial development but also lead towards economic growth and development in Pakistan.
Lahore – TUSDEC and University of the Punjab signed MoU to facilitate efforts in developing industry–academia linkages for sustained economic growth and technological advancement in Pakistan. Both parties to MoU will share respective strengths, experiences, methodologies for technology upgradation, skill development, advisory and business development services etc aimed at promoting quality, productivity, value addition and competitiveness in industrial sectors of Pakistan.
TUSDEC participated in “TOSS SHOW 2018 TARGET & OUTDOOR SHOOTING SPORTS” organized by Pakistan Hunting & Sporting Arms Development Company (PHSADC) in Islamabad. TUSDEC displayed sate of the art products made at its Peshawar Light Engineering Center (PLEC), while TUSDEC officials briefed the guests about effectiveness of engineering facilities.

Lahore – TUSDEC signs agreement with Punjab Skills Development Fund on 17th September 2018 for the project of ” Punjab Skills Development Program 2018 (PSDP – 2018)”. Under the project, TUSDEC will be providing free training in multiple trades to the deserving candidates only for Punjab. TUSDEC endeavor is to skill handicap youth of the Punjab and to make them earning hand to their families thus playing productive role in our society. The training will start from October 1st 2018.
Islamabad – TUSDEC participated in Commemoration of World Refugee Day event in Marriott Islamabad, as an implementation partner of UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR). The event was jointly conducted by UNHCR, Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) and GiZ (German Development Cooperation). The event was attended by the Federal SAFRON Minister, Ms. Roshan Khursheed Bharucha, Director of UNHCR’s Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, Mr. Indrika Ratwatte, German Ambassador to Pakistan, Martin Kobler, Government officials, representatives from diplomatic missions, representative from TUSDEC, UN agencies and refugees. The participants showed strong determination to help refugees in Pakistan to play productive role in our societies. It was also emphasized that professional training should be given to the refugees through imparting technical skills and making them earning hands for their families.
Technology Up gradation & Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) and Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) signed MoU
Friday, May 4, 2018: Mr. Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, Chief Executive Officer, TUSDEC and Dr. Naveed A Malik, Rector Virtual University of Pakistan signed the MoU in a ceremony held at M.A Jinnah Campus, Lahore.
Both institutions agreed to share respective strengths, experience, methodologies for technology up gradation, skill development, advisory and business development services, aimed at promoting quality, productivity, value addition and competitiveness in industrial sectors of Pakistan. As per agreement, both organizations will work together in conceiving, designing and executing joint projects aimed at technology up gradation and skill development of various industrial sectors, especially with reference to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
On this occasion, Mr. Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, Chief Executive Officer, TUSDEC admired the state of the art ICT infrastructure of Virtual University and stated that this collaboration will facilitate efforts in developing industry-academia linkages for sustained economic growth and technical advancement. Dr. Naveed A. Malik, Rector Virtual University of Pakistan, said that Virtual University has always been working on judicious and economic use of resources in the greater national interest in the country through innovative use of technology. He further said that this collaboration would increase the outreach and serve as an endeavor to offer dynamic routes of achievement to our brilliant youth.
TUSDEC conducted awareness workshop on “Energy Efficiency, and conservation measures for Industrial Sector” in Multan
Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) has conducted one day workshop on “Energy Efficiency, and conservation measures for Industrial Sector” at Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry(MCCI).
Through the workshop, TUSDEC sensitized the masses on the benefits of energy efficiency and conservation measures for the industrial sectors in Punjab. It was emphasized that the government should reduce duty on import of energy conservation equipment and parts to encourage use of energy-saving solutions and development of the local industry. TUSDEC officials reiterated that we must reduce the cost of production by saving energy to compete our neighboring countries in world market. It was further emphasized that that Technology up-gradation based on smart and efficient energy resources in developing countries can take them to the next level of development.

Training on Plant Condition Monitoring for Reliable Production and Extension in life of Plant Assets
Established in 2005 by Ministry of Industries and Production, Govt. of Pakistan, Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) has played an effective role in training manpower on latest cutting edge technologies for local industries. TUSDEC established National Institute of Design & Analysis (NIDA) centers in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Sialkot to offer hi-tech technical courses in industrial automation, designing, manufacturing and maintenance domain for mechanical, electrical, civil & process plant industry. The trainings also encompass the need of strategic organizations. Thousands of professionals have participated in these trainings to acquire knowledge and have practical experience of latest trends being implemented across various industrial sectors.
In today’s competitive market, the use of technologies for preventive maintenance is imperative. Plant Condition monitoring, a process to monitor variations like vibration and temperature in machinery to predict a developing fault has gained far more importance for reliable production and extension in life of Plant assets. The use of condition monitoring techniques allows maintenance to be scheduled o
r other actions to be taken to prevent consequential damages. Resultantly, it helps optimization of resources utilization, enhance useful life of equipment, improve inventory control, better productivity and in fact the budgetary control.
TUSDEC/NIDA has organized a comprehensive training on Plant Condition Monitoring in a local hotel covering the techniques of vibration analysis, oil & lube analysis, field balancing, laser alignment & infrared thermography techniques using thermal imaging cameras. Le
ad Trainer having Doctorate in the field of Condition monitoring and vast industrial experience conducted the training sessions. Practical demonstration and filed visit was also carried out for comprehensive understanding of 22 participants gathered from corporate sector and strategic organizations like ICI, KSB Pumps, Berger Paints, KRL etc. Three days training was arranged in collaboration with Institute of Reliability and Centered Maintenance (IRCM). The training concluded on 29th of March with certificates distributed by CEO TUSDEC Mr. Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry who congratulated students for successfully completing the courses while highlighting the importance of Condition Monitoring in today’s competitive world. The participants applauded the training and active role of NIDA in providing the platform for such highly technical trainings.
