TUSDEC and Cutlery Sector

Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) and representative of cutlery association have conducted a meeting to identify technology and skill gaps in cutlery sector. The meeting was conducted as a result of a project, Industrial Technology Benchmarking (ITB), which TUSDEC is currently implementing in Pakistan. During the meeting, the representatives of cutlery sector, highlighted major problems they are facing in terms technology backwardness and skill gaps. The representatives further elaborated that cutlery sector had a great potential of growth for national economy but, unfortunately, due to technical limitations, not been able to work accordingly. At this occasion, Chief Executive Officer TUSDEC expressed his views that cutlery sector needed special focus to overcome its technology related impediments in order to catalyze its export led growth. CEO TUSDEC also said that, through its project Industrial Technology Benchmarking (ITB), TUSDEC is developing a comprehensive & modern benchmarking standard for cutlery sector, that will kick start a technological revolution in this sector. The CEO TUSDEC further stated that Industrial Technology Benchmarking will enable the local industry of cutlery sector to adopt best practices of technological advancement, in order to increase exports and compete in the international markets.

Technical Trainings and Services

Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) Offered Technical Trainings and Services to Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, UET, Lahore. MoU signed.
Lahore: Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) and Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, UET, have signed a MoU at UET, Lahore to extend cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Technology Up gradation & Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) was established with a mission to upgrade technology and improve skills of strategic work force of key industrial clusters of Pakistan.
By this understanding, both TUSDEC and Dept. of IME, UET agree to share respective strengths, experiences, methodologies for technology upgradation, skill development, advisory and business development services etc aimed at promoting quality, productivity, value addition and competitiveness in industrial sectors of Pakistan. At this moment, CEO TUSDEC, Mr. Alamgir Chaudhry said that such efforts in developing industry–academia linkages for sustained economic growth and technological advancement will benefit the national growth in longer run. The CEO TUSDEC also offered subsidized training courses and joint technical training facility for the students at UET. It was also agreed that the final year students of Dept. of IME, UET will have a chance to visit large scale engineering facilities of TUSDEC established across Pakistan. The CEO TUSDEC also offered UET counterparts to visit TUSDEC as step to strengthen industry academia linkage. Professor Dr. Mohammed Pervez Mughal, chairman Dept. of IME, UET, also shared his valuable thoughts at the occasion. The chairman Dept. of IME, UET have signed the MoU on behalf of UET, Lahore.

TUSDEC and Punjab Energy Efficiency and Conservation Agency (PEECA), inked MoU to collaborate in promoting energy efficient technologies in industrial sector of Pakistan. Federal Secretary Ministry of Industries and Production, Mr. Khizer Hayat Gondal visited TUSDEC Head Office Lahore on Saturday July 23, 2016. Acting CEO TUSDEC, Mr. Wasim Tahir and senior officials warmly welcomed Mr. Khizar Hayat Gondal and briefed him regarding current initiatives and key achievements of TUSDEC. The Federal Secretary also visited National Institute of Design and Analysis (NIDA), Cement Research and Development Institute (CRDI) and Solar Lab established by TUSDEC. He appreciated TUSDEC efforts and extra ordinary achievements related to technology upgradation and skill development and shared that such initiatives will not only help in industrial development but also lead towards economic growth and development in Pakistan.

MOU signed between TUSDEC and Globalis International

MOU signed between TUSDEC and Globalis International at TUSDEC head office Lahore on Tuesday July 12, 2016. CEO TUSDEC Basit Maqsood Abbasi, Director Projects Globalis International Farrukh Naqvi and senior officials from both organizations were also present at the occasion. Basit Maqsood Abbasi shared his views that collaboration between both organizations will help to work together and coordinate efforts for technology upgradation and skill development leading towards industrial development. Both organizations agreed to work for international accreditation of training programs, linkages development and foreign delegation visits. Director Projects Globalis Intl. Farrukh Naqvi also shared that the initiative will help plan joint ventures to identify and apply for foreign funding and private investments opportunities
