TUSDEC (Technology Upgrdataion & Skill Development Company has awarded contracts to the selected NGOs across KP for social mobilization of local communities. These contracts were signed under a project financed by the Delegation of European Union to Pakistan for Supporting TVET Sector in Pakistan especially in KP & FATA. The collaborations with local NGOs/CBOs have been made to enable the opportunities of economic mainstreaming for the socially marginalized strata residing in the rural terrain of KP and FATA. After the successful execution of the first phase, the agreement will facilitate in scaling up the TVET programme to second phase ensuring maximum outreach in KP and FATA. The company source shared that TUSDEC has adopted a competitive, open and transparent selection process inviting interested NGOs/CBOs for the mobilization of community through nation-wide print campaign. He further shared that an overwhelming response was received and 13 NGOs were underscored for further evaluation in terms of legal capacity, experiential profile and outreach etc. At the culmination of painstaking inspection, 04 NGOs/CBOs have been chosen to run the second phase of the programme. The selected NGOs/CBOs for the mobilization services are FORD, WASFD, IRUP and HOPE. The contracts have been signed at TUSDEC Peshawar office in the presence of representatives of NGOs/CBOs. The engagement of CBOs/NGOs has set-forth the basis for an absolute implementation of the four years EU funded programme delivering to its objectives. At the programme conclusion, 12000 men and women from KP and FATA will be equipped with employable skills. The programme will also aid in projecting the overall representation of technical and vocational education as an equally coveted path towards a reputable vocation.
