TUSDEC has concluded the second batch of the five day course of Solar Technology for the instructors belonging to the remote regions of Sindh. The programme has been organized in collaboration with Research & Development Foundation, Hyderabad. In pursuance of TUSDEC’s skill enhancement pursuit, it has inked an agreement with RDF to train two batches of Instructors in the specialized area of Photovoltaics. The objective of the programme was to introduce solar technology to the participants for onward transfer to the local students. TUSDEC engaged proficient and seasoned trainers with an enhanced outlook of renewable energy arena. The trainers have edified the candidates with latest trends and designing techniques in Photovoltaics. During the five day training session, students have been apprised with the testing, installation and troubleshooting of numerous kinds of solar panels which are currently in demand by the solar industry in the country.TUSDEC has facilitated the trainees not only through practical trainings at state-of-the-art solar lab but also arranged special sessions on solar cell manufacturing, renewable energy, Competency Based Trainings (CBT), Competency Based Curricula (CBC) and assessment techniques in Competency Based Training,. According to the company source, TUSDEC has established a high tech solar lab outfitted with the most modern equipment to satiate industry’s demand for technically adept manpower in the field of solar technology and is organizing refresher and training of trainer sessions for various stakeholders. It is contemplating projects of skill development and technology upgradation to facilitate the solar power industry of Pakistan and in continuation, striving to realize National Institute of Solar Energy, a Common Facility Centre that will help in attaining sustainable solution to country’s energy perturbations, further explicated by the company source. Multiple donor agencies are also participating with TUSDEC in its efforts of providing skilled and technically sound workforce in alternate energy solutions.
