The trainings were precisely aimed at upgrading conventional electrical skills of the trainees, into modern techniques of non-conventional source, solar technology. For the purpose, 17 electrical trade trainers were nominated by RDF/Oxfam Novib from various institutions of Sindh TEVTA (STEVTA). The idea behind the initiative was to make well trained human resource available in target areas of Sindh to promote the solar industry and to provide reasonable employment opportunities to the people of backward areas through a chain reaction of modern skills transformation. The TOTs (Training of Trainer) were structured on the basis of 5 days training sessions with interactive teaching/ learning methodologies covering both the theoretical aspect and the practical work on smart applications of solar systems. The training activities also included group exercises, group discussions and demonstration of alternative energy sources being installed at TUSDEC premises.
