TUSDEC (Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company) has successfully concluded the Training of Trainers (TOT) programme in two trades “Know About Business” (KAB) & “Computer Applications and Office Professional”(CAO) with trainers from the district of Swat, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Shikarpur and Muzaffarabad. The ToT sessions were executed under a three year project financed by the Delegation of European Union to Pakistan for Supporting TVET sector in Pakistan. TUSDEC in affiance with ACTED (Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development) and PMN (Pakistan Microfinance Network) is implementing the project aimed at improving the access, quality and service delivery of the TVET sector for rural, marginalized communities through innovative approaches. Under the project, TUSDEC extended the services of curricula & manual development, supply of tools and equipment, training of the trainers (ToT) and carrying out the technical monitoring and evaluation.
Consummating the project objectives, TUSDEC has organized TOT sessions for the trades of “Know About Business & Computer Applications and Office Professional” and equipped 24 trainers, from the impoverished districts of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, with contemporary training modes. According to a company source, the objective of these trainings was the creation of an enterprise culture by promoting awareness among beneficiaries of the entrepreneurial opportunities & challenges and involving them as a foundation stone in national development while uplifting their own livelihood. Adding further, the source explicated that TUSDEC is mandated to overcome the dearth of digitally empowered manpower and recognizing that, we have included computer applications training in the programme aimed at developing technology-savvy entrepreneurs by improving computer and virtual networking skills for their entrepreneurial ventures.
After the successful conclusion of ToT sessions, the trained instructors are now stationed in their respective districts and are disseminating the knowledge and skills required to; kick-start a business and become a successful entrepreneurs along with connecting them to the digital world for business improvement. The trainers will serve as change agents by shaping the attitudes of the area inhabitants towards positive enterprise culture and encourage them to create their own enterprises.
