Technology Up gradation and Skill Development Company, TUSDEC in collaboration with Naizi Polytechnic Institute hosted a first ever Job fair (Hunar Mela) for TVET Graduates in District Lakki Marwat.

25 companies were invited for Hunar Mela via invitation and personal visit of the Principal NPI in collaboration with TUSDEC Team. As it was the first ever event in the area, a lot of persuasion and efforts were made to convince the stakeholders for participation in the event, especially the informal sector.

110 participants were present in the event, including potential employers from the area, Pass outs trainees (65) of Plumbing, Electrician, and Quantity Survey and notable dignitaries of the area, including Local Press, representative of Local Government, and official of Technical education.

Engr. Amir Nawaz Khan, M.D. Bannu Sugar Mills, & President of Civil Society, Lakki Marwat in his speech thanked TUSDEC for provision of free training courses in district Lakki. He also thanked the NPI, Lakki for the exemplary services provided in the field of technical education and appreciated the understanding of the NPI regarding the significance of TVET skills in the context of poverty alleviation.

Eng. Tarif Ullah, Focal Person, Lucky Cement Factory, in his speech thanked TUSDEC- EU and management NPI for initiation of such programs and stressed programs based on skills for employability and important role of the employers for realizing the skills outcome in the district Lakki.                                                      

The last speaker of the event was Chief Editor Saiban, Mr. Ghulam Akhbar. He highlighted the importance of skill training and employment for youth and its role in reducing the chances of involving in other unhealthy activities.

The event was concluded with open discussion among the participants about several issues related to relevance of vocational training to the current demand for skill laborers.
