The Production Planning component of SAP-ERP system enables a manufacturing company to benefit from historical data to prepare a forecast, which can then be used in production planning and production execution. From an initial sales order from customers, to the highly integrated and complex chain of interdependent activities in Logistics in the SAP system, the PP component reflects its strength, both in planning and execution. It seamlessly integrates with sales, procurement, quality, maintenance, projects, human capital, finance, and controlling functions of the company. It also integrates with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), as well as with Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (MII).
